This site is an archive of the work I am completing as part of ENVS 326/ENVS 526 at Emory University during the fall 2019 semester.
I am a student at Emory University and this site will cover one specific topic within the subject matter of climate change. Global electricity consumption is one of the leading causes of climate change and greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions. The commercial and industrial(C&I) sector is responsible for a majority of electricity usage. With the world’s leading corporations joining climate alliances and setting sustainability initiatives, a large component has been in regards to sourcing and supporting renewable energy generation. This page will focus on the rise of corporate involvement within the renewable energy industry, primarily in the United States. An increasing number of corporations are procuring and investing in renewable projects, through various methods. Corporate involvement in renewables can be attributed to both economic and environmental drivers. The goal for this website is to collect and provide information to the general public on corporate involvement in the renewables industry.
